This painting was done in 1976 in my Art 101 class which was the basic design level, introductory, art class for Art majors. The professor who taught the course was Donald Penny, a well-known Georgia potter. He was a tough, strict, instructor and he gave me the thick skin I needed for all future critiques of my artwork. Despite his teaching style, I learned a lot from the man and have enormous respect for him as an artist. The painting exemplifies my love of color and good design.
